.Impermanence

and the four givens of existence.

The moment you finally come to realise the impermanence of life and you seperate duration from worthiness, the moment you manage at last to cope with the givens of existence*, you 've stopped hallucinating.

*
The inevitability of death for each one of us and for those we love.
The freedom to make our lives as we will.
Our ultimate aloneness.
The absense of any obvious meaning or sense to life.

This is what i 'm trying to cope with lately and incorporate in my perception of life..

death: Elle Muliarchyk, 'Alone Hermès'

meaningless: i-D, sept. 04, photography by Dennis Schoenberg

isolation: Acne Paper, photography by Camilla Akrans

freedom: YSL fall 07 campaign

A positive spin on that would be 'Live life to the max...'

Freedom and isolation go hand in hand and they help us -along with reflection- to find the meaning of our lifes. Death is inevitable.

Most of those hold hands. We simply have to learn to live with them and, luckily, avid them every once in a while.

Reminds me of my father, he always says "we're all going to die and it could be today." But he's also very cheerful, for him its important to not fear death or anything else so today isn't wasted.

It is a very beautiful thing to consider and contemplate death. As we will all someday have to face the inevitable, and every time we take steps towards growth in any way, we in a sense, allow a part of our ego to die, if we choose.

I love the music on your blog. I could listen to it all day long.

It is wonderful to live openly and fully, no matter what is going on around you.

haha, i agree with susie, these are all things that pop into my head, but putting a positive spin on it doesn't hurt.

that YSL advert perfectly sums up freedom though, so amazing; that image of gisele ranting in the silent streets of paris shall stay in my mind for a long time!

also, about your last comment, why don't you enter the competition? a girl who has a chloe bag named after her surely is in with a chance of winning! hehe.

you're on my may best reads list, btw.
