Lately i've been having a lot in mind (Kiki's comeback, Haute Couture shows, must-have summer looks, Fall 08 ad campaigns, Glasto looks, trends of the moment..) and no time to dedicate one post to each and every one of them. I was haunted. I couldn't wait. I couldn't let all this pass by. I think vacation would be an interesting solution in order to stay away from my pc. But since at the moment there 's no such plan on schedule and in order to avoid the rising blogo-stress and to catch up with the fashion's lightspeeds i just and simply decided to collect my thoughts in titles.

THE hat
In the early part of the twentieth century, the fedora was popular in cities for its stylishness, ability to protect the wearer's head from the wind and weather, and the fact that it could be rolled up when not in use. The hat is sometimes associated with Prohibition-era gangsters and the detectives who sought to bring them to justice.
The popularity of the fedora has resulted in a large variety of styles being available. Fedoras can be found in nearly any color imaginable, but black, grey, and tan/brown are the most popular.
In Hollywood movies of the 1940s, characters often wore a fedora, particularly when playing private detectives, gangsters, or other "tough guy" roles. (source:wikipedia)

(natural) HIGH
Yes that's what heels are about. About giving you confidence, not so generously though... Wearing sky-high heels is kind of a fair trade! You gain 10+ centimetres, a sexy posture and movement and possibly a panoramic view of the world. In exchange, you must put pain in your daily schedule. Depending on the type of heel you choose to wear, different parts of the foot may hurt. Il faut souffrir pour être belle. That's the unbreakable rule not only for Gwyneth Paltrow who sported some breathtaking pairs but for the women who reportedly have contributed to a significant rise in the sales of killer heels.
Gwyneth Paltrow's show-stopping red carpet appearances in hyper-vertiginous heels at various Iron Man premieres this week have not gone unnoticed by the British buying public; Selfridges is reporting a 35 per cent rise in sales of "fetish" heels, which are topping the seven inch mark, in the past week.
"This season we are selling the highest and most incredible shoes I've ever seen," says Selfridges' director of accessories, Sebastian Manes. "Not for the faint hearted, fetish heels offer the wearer an extreme, attention grabbing look. These are definitely taxi shoes!"
Balenciaga, Pierre Hardy, Nina Ricci, Christian Louboutin and Yves Saint Laurent are among the main culprits, with special mention going to Alexander McQueen's Languid courts - Paltrow's footwear of choice for the London premiere. (Vogue UK)

Days Geeky
It all started with a chair...
'A comedy about growing up.. and the bumps along the way.' This is what Juno is about and i never expected it would be so true, so purely cool. I was thrilled both by Ellen Page (Juno) and her costar Michael Cera (Paulie Bleeker), though i 'm not the only one since the girl is nominated now for the best performance in a leading role!! Go Juno(!)
*If you have seen the film you may have noticed Juno's hamburger phone which is actually owned by the screenwriter Diablo Cody. Diablo Cody with several awards on her hands now for her original screenplay, gained her first audience when she started writing about her own experiences to her blog The Pussy Ranch . That was when a producer found her and asked her to try writing a script. Though Diablo was happy about it she denied because she didn't want to get involved with the 'competitive' world of cinema. The producer wisely insisted and Diablo Condy has become a screenwriter being proud now for her Juno.

I am in search of some geekiness in my style-life now. I can't wait for my Luella spring days.. but meanwhile i remembered of another wanna be geeky day(s) of my life. Since my life, though, doesn't make it to a glossy magazine, i made une courte VOGUE-esque radiographie by myself.
et voila:

Here's a game for you: Can you identify the background photo of the collage?

Snow White me
The current Snow Whites go on vacation to Mexico, while in the western world is snowing (or almost) and they choose to drink their tea lying in tanning beds. White coats, then, come as an indispensable must-have for their 'tropic' beauty. From Kate to Kate they all went for a white shaded coat in order to face winter time.
p.s for the rest of us whose skin colour follow the seasonal changes, there is still some hope as long as the right shade is chosen. Cream, ivory, off white, bone, beige, pearl..
..i would go for the ivory colarless Moschino one!
From top: Moschino, Alexander Wang, Celine, Topshop.
